Properties of Magnesium Oxide (MgO) Board
Fireproof
MgO board is a fire resistant, and achieves zero smoke / flame spread. It can achieve fire ratings as high as 4 hours, given the right installation.

Waterproof / Moisture Resistance
When submerged for extended periods of time, the MgO board experiences no dimensional changes.
Resistance to fungus and mould
Due to the high acidity of the boards (pH 12), the boards are resistant to any growth of microorganisms.
The boards are impervious to insects, including termites, and sugar ants, and is not attacked or consumed by rodents.

Lightweight
10mm Thick magnesium boards weights 10,7kg/m2, and is therefore considerably lighter than concrete, or other comparable building materials.
Good thermal isolation
This provides for much better thermal insulation than plaster board (0,209 W/m2K), Fibre Cement Board of (0.349 W/m2K), and MDF Board (0.233 W/m2K)
Dimensionally stable
MgO board retains its excellent dimensional stability, even in damp and humid conditions, and can be installed at an early stage of the construction program, before the wet trades are completed, and the building is watertight.
Soundproof
A 10mm MgO Board will provide the same or better sound reduction than a 150mm thick common brick wall.
Environmental friendly
The MgO board has no chemicals in its formula; some of ingredients are found in vitamins and minerals we take every day. MgO boards are therefore non-toxic, free of carcinogens, and contains no silica, and is 100% recyclable.
